Assam has sustained
a wealthy tradition of various conventional crafts for more than two thousand
years. Currently, Cane and bamboo craft, bell metal and brass craft, silk and
cotton weaving, toy and mask creating, pottery and terracotta work, wood craft,
jewellery making, musical instruments making, etc. are remained as main
traditions.
Cane and
bamboo craft offer the most normally used utilities in daily life, ranging from
domestic utilities, weaving accessories, fishing accessories, furniture,
musical instruments to building structure materials.
